Automatically collect guest registration for Expedia bookings. Best Guest connects in two ways:
- Automated messages — Expedia Property Message Center delivers your registration link.
- iCal sync — Best Guest imports your Expedia reservations from the property calendar.

Before you start
- Expedia Partner Central access with an active property
- A Best Guest account
- Your Best Guest registration link, e.g.

(Use your real link. ?channel=expedia records the reservation origin.)
Using the right link: every listing — each apartment, room, tent, RV, or whatever counts as your smallest bookable unit — has its own unique registration link. If you manage more than one listing, double-check you’re copying the correct one. Find all your links in Best Guest under Properties → [property] → Listings → Copy listing link, or grab them during the Listings step of onboarding.
Path 1 — Automated message
Expedia messaging works differently
Expedia routes communication through its own messaging rather than exposing guest contact details, and behavior can vary by booking source (direct Expedia vs. affiliate brands such as Hotels.com). Because of this: keep registration messages short, use one clear call to action, and always test with a real reservation.
Steps
- Open Partner Central.
- Go to Property → Guest Communication → Message Templates (the exact path can vary by property type and region).
- Create a template named “Best Guest Registration”.
- Set it to send 2 days before arrival (1 day for short stays; immediately for same-day).
- Add your message with a single call to action.
Recommended message:
Hello (guest name),
Before arrival, please complete your online guest registration:
https://app.bestguestapp.com/l/your-listing
It takes about 2 minutes. We look forward to welcoming you.
Send registration as its own message — don’t combine it with Wi-Fi, parking and directions.
Recommended: a reminder one day after arrival
Best Guest automatically reminds the main guest if they started registration but haven’t finished it. If a guest never opens the form at all, though, that reminder can’t reach them — so it’s worth scheduling a second Property Message Center template, timed 1 day after arrival instead of before it, using only the link:

Path 2 — iCal sync
To import Expedia reservations into Best Guest’s Reservation Verification, copy your property’s calendar export (.ics) link — from Partner Central where available, or from the channel manager Expedia is connected through — and paste it into Best Guest. Best Guest then flags any Expedia stay still missing a completed registration.
Recommended timeline
- Reservation confirmed → confirmation only
- 2 days before arrival → registration link
- Arrival day → check-in instructions
- 1 day after arrival → reminder for guests who haven’t completed registration
- Departure day → thank-you
Troubleshooting
No registration request received — check the Partner Central inbox, template timing, reservation source, and message visibility (some affiliate reservations behave differently).
Reservation missing in Best Guest — verify the URL and ?channel=expedia.
